VoxAlti uses Wi-Fi to carry out updates. The FDS Altis app (available on iOS or Android) needs to be used first to set the Wi-Fi network name and password on the altimeter. After settings those, use the .bin file at the bottom of this page and follow the instructions in the instructional video found here:


An alternative method using only an iPhone can be used as well:

1. In Safari on the iPhone, download the .bin file at the bottom of this page. It will be saved to Files → Downloads.
2. In Settings → Personal Hotspot, turn on Allow Others to Join and Maximize Compatibility.
3. In the FDS Altis app, set the Wi-Fi network name to the iPhone's name and the password to the Wi-Fi Password shown on the Personal Hotspot screen.
4. Go to Settings → Personal Hotspot and stay on that screen.
5. Hold down button two until VoxAlti says "firmware," then release it.
6. Wait for VoxAlti to read out its IP address and for the blue light to start blinking quickly.
7. Switch to Safari and go to http://<IP address>/update (for example, http://172.20.10.3/update). Be sure to include "http://" and "/update".
8. Choose the .bin file from Downloads and tap Upload. The upload must be completed within five minutes of the IP address being read out.

Firmware Version 2.7 (October 13, 2026)
Fixes a lockup after landing when jump storage is full. When full, new jumps are simply not logged until old jumps are erased. Also fixes jump downloads getting stuck on empty jump files. (2.7 corrects the version VoxAlti speaks aloud, which said 2.5 in 2.6.)
